I purchased the Sony VCT-60AV and thought I needed to purchase the remote seperatly in order to operate it. HAHA, It’s a “Remote Control Tripod” not a “Remote Controled Tripod” and further more it comes with a remote control built in.

  2. If the five foot cord is long enough for your project the RM-AV2 is

a fine product….it for any reason you have a need to get a little

farther from the camera forget it,,,,,Sony does not make an extension

for the cable and the connection style is unique to Sony so an extension cannot be made….Sonys customer service was of no help

in dealing with the problem…what I would like have known before I purchased this product (and the camera itself)is that the options were limited

If you already bought the “Sony VCT-80AV Remote Control Tripod for use with Compatible Sony Camcorders” or some stuff like that, don’t buy this, they have the same function. Wired control with Tripod (Sony VCT-80AV Remote Control) is much better than only wired control, also, the accessories of sony camcorder already included wireless control. I have no idea why Amazon still reccomend the consumer this product who have already bought “Sony VCT-80AV Remote Control Tripod”.

  4. I bought this for use with my Sony HDR-SR11 and HDR CX7. Works great with both. This plugs into the Sony A/V R port. Same port used to output standard def video. Options are power ON/OFF, fast and slow zoom in/out, start/stop video recording and take a photo.

Excellent videoing tool. It took longer than expected to get it since it took a week for them to pick and pack it. The US mail was quicker than the prep work. I would buy from them again but would have to have as much as 2 weeks lead time.
